Our responsibility for your information

Ruffled Rose Co. is responsible for personal information under its control. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with this policy and with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). You can reach our Privacy Officer at info@ruffledrose.com.

Information we collect

We collect information that people choose to provide through the platform, such as names, email addresses, contact details, event information, messages, and materials submitted through forms or uploads.

We may also collect limited technical information needed to operate, maintain, and secure the platform, including log data and essential cookies or similar technologies.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, manage client relationships, deliver and document our services, operate and secure the platform, maintain internal business records, and communicate about our work.

Consent

We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your knowledge and consent, except where PIPA permits or requires us to act without it. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us — though doing so may limit our ability to provide certain services.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, maintain, or support the platform and our operations. We may also disclose information if required by law or if reasonably necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety.

We do not sell personal information.

Service providers and data location

Some of our service providers, including hosting and infrastructure providers, may store or process information outside British Columbia and Canada. Where they do, the information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is held. We take reasonable steps to ensure our service providers protect personal information in a manner consistent with this policy.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or to meet legal, tax, or business-record requirements. When information is no longer needed for those purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or remove it.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete. We will respond within the time required by PIPA (generally 30 days), and will let you know if we need more time or cannot fulfill a request as asked, along with the reason.

If a breach occurs

If a privacy breach occurs that could reasonably be expected to result in significant harm to you, we will respond promptly and will notify you and, where appropriate, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a revised version on this page.

If you have a question or concern about how we handle personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer at info@ruffledrose.com first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC BC).
